Beta 5 was a major release of Meower Vanilla. It was released on January 31, 2022, around 10:00 P.M. (22:00)<ref name=":0">https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/5998311/</ref>, with the release being announced on the Meower Forum by zedthehedgehog.<ref name=":0" /> It came with an overhauled GUI, with many new options.

Beta 5 marked the end of the Italic Bug, for the removal of BBCode+. One back-end feature with Beta 5 is that there will be less reports of the IP Blocking Issue, now that Meower runs off of the Meower API.

Beta 5 is the last version of Meower to be developed using Scratch, and was officially discontinued on August 19, 2023, at 10:47 P.M. (22:47)
